In search of the best wings in New York, Lansdowne Road on 10th Avenue (between 43rd St and 44th St) in Hell’s Kitchen New York was at the top of our list to try. And we’re glad we did. The wings were amazing, the blue cheese delicious and the atmosphere fun, casual and entertaining.
Lansdowne Road is the name of both a road in Dublin Ireland and a rugby stadium located there. It’s also the home of Irish rugby and is the world’s oldest rugby union venue. The Irish pub in NYC decided to honor Lansdowne Road with its fun and entertaining rugby themed bar.
Lansdowne Road has over a dozen tap beers and many bottled selections which are kept chilled on illuminated ice rails. There was plenty of seating on comfortable benches and pub tables strategically designed to keep large groups together and create a warm and comfortable atmosphere. There are approximately twelve HDTV plasma screens for watching sports with a state-of-the-art audio system. Aside from the beer and wine selection, the menu had a large appetizer section, burgers and sandwiches, salads and what we came for – Scruffy Duffy’s World Famous Chicken Wings.
Wings come in 12 pieces (7.95), 24 pieces ($12.95), and 50 pieces ($23.95). And on Mondays the wings are just $0.25 each. Chicken wings can be ordered hot, medium, mild or barbequed.
We ordered 12 chicken wings ($7.95) with a medium sauce. The wings came with a side of fresh celery sticks and delicious blue cheese dressing for dipping.
The chicken wings were awesome and not too hot on the palate! The wings were super tasty, juicy, full of meat and cooked to perfection.
For delicious hot wings and a fun time out chilling with friends or watching a sports game at a cool Irish rugby inspired pub, Lansdowne Road in Hell’s Kitchen New York will not disappoint!
